A group of prominent CIOs and other leading technology professionals has joined together to support a new non-profit organisation dedicated to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
SustainableIT.org is dedicated to the idea that technology leaders must take a collective stand on environmental and social issues. Among its aims are to help define standards and best practices in areas such as energy efficiency, racial and gender diversity and data privacy. It will raise awareness of ESG issues via social media, awards programs and training. It will also establish certification programs for use by enterprises and their tech vendors partners.
